Overview

White light sources brighter than conventional light bulbs, manipulation of single photons or the smallest focal spot world wide – these are just a few activities at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light. The main goal is to control light in every respect: in space and time, in polarisation - i.e. simply speaking the direction of oscillation – and in its quantum properties.
