Suspended membrane arrays for optomechanics and sensing

Due to the possibilities for their electric, magnetic or optical activation, suspended micromechanical resonators are ubiquitous in sensing, signal processing or metrology applications. I will discuss the use of periodic optomechanical arrays consisting of parallel silicon nitride membranes for fundamental investigations of quantum and collective optomechanics, as well as for practical applications in sensing and metrology.
