For students we offer a variety of interesting topics for diploma, bachelor or master theses!

We frequently offer positions as student helpers. Please check the “Join us” section, but it is also worth to contact our research groups directly!

If you want to do a PhD at MPL, there are always a number of interesting topics offered. Best is to check on the website of the different research groups and contact them directly.

You also have the opportunity to apply for different graduate schools. On the one hand, there is the International Max Planck Research School Physics of Light (IMPRS-PL), directly affiliated to MPL. On the other hand, MPL cooperates with the Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies (SAOT) and the Excellence Cluster Engineering of Advanced Materials, that are both run by the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
