Interferometric X-Ray imaging

Our interferometric X-Ray imaging set-up is based on Talbot-Lau interferometry. In addition to the common absorption image, taken in state-of-the-art X-Ray imaging, additional information is obtained: the differential phase image shows the refractivity of the sample, the dark field image indicates the presence of granular media with structure size below the spatial resolution. Of importance, the method allows to be used with readily available X-Ray tubes and detectors. Therefore, it has the potential to become a widespread method, replacing X-Ray imaging setups in medical and research environments.
