Abstract of IMPRS project(s)

Prof. Florian Marquardt leads the Theory Division at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light. In general, the research of his group is located at the intersection between nanophysics and quantum optics. Among the topics pursued there are the following: Decoherence, solid-state qubits, electron transport at the nanoscale, quantum many-body dynamics in the solid state and in cold atom systems, and the field of nano- and optomechanics. In particular the research on optomechanics offers strong connections with the Max Planck Institute, and the Marquardt group is one of the external groups associated with the MPL.

Our optomechanics research is aided by participation in the Max-Planck IMPRS, as well as by a DARPA grant, an ERC Starting Grant (on the "Theory of Optomechanical Circuits"), and a Marie-Curie ITN network on optomechanics.
